InFamous Second Son-Insights

I personally am really looking forward to the third InFamous. InFamous has always been a favorite of mine with its easy to understand controls, awesome powers, and great storyline. This new game looks like it's going to be a favorite. I am actually almost persuaded to buy the new system just to be able to play this game. So, let me get started on my first insight.

                                                     Delsin

The new main protagonist is going to be named Delsin. An interesting and not usual name. He looks like a rebel, or a rogue. I am hoping that this means he will take risks and get things done, but not always in the right way. Kind of like an anti-hero. Which, speaking of heroes, brings me to my next point. Will the traditional choose your path of Hero or InFamous be included in this game? I really hope so, because thats what the name is all about. One thing about Delsin, that some people are getting confused about, is that his power is not to control smoke, his power is to absorb other conduits' powers.

                                                     Gameplay

The gameplay in this new game is somewhat like the old InFamous. Delsin can shoot smoke balls from his hands kind of like Cole's bolts. Also, i'm looking forward to the navigation system. In the old InFamous, we had Static Thrusters, Ice Launch, Firebird Strike, and Grind Wires. In the new game, I believe that there is some sort of way to scale buildings really fast, or something of the sort. I also see Delsin being able to turn into smoke and zoom towards enemies and take them down all in a fluid movement. He also has a power much like the Static Thrusters, only with smoke. His melee weapon is his chain, much like the amp. He also has a power that is like the Electric Jump, only with smoke, but he does not have to jump from a high place to use it.

                                                      Story

The story of Second Son is that Delsin helps a man escape from a bus crash, and he absorbs the man's smoke powers. Delsin is a rebel to the D.U.P. and believes that they are imprisoning his city. Which brings up one more point. The game designers put a lot of effort in creating a city that actually exists this time: Seattle. Delsin rebels and attacks the D.U.P. stating that "You don't control me".

As I have said before, I am really looking forward to this game. Sometimes I wish that I didn't have to buy a new console just to play it, but that probably won't happen, so i'm just gonna start saving.

PSP Review

I haven't done any posts recently, so I decided to post again. I recently bought a PSP 3000 recently, so I decided to do a review.

                                                        Features

The Sony PSP 3000 has many features much like the PS3. It has the Directional Pad, the Button Pad, and the Analog Stick. It also has the Playstation button, which acts the same as on the PS3. It has a volume button also. To turn on the internet, you have to know every detail of your internet information, enter it into the settings, then switch on the WLAN button. It also has the Right and Left buttons.

                                  Graphics

The graphics on the PSP 3000 are better than the 2000, but they aren't anything to brag about. They are good though. They have vibrant colors and movements.

                                                      Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty good, while it is also not as good as possible. You can move with both the D-Pad and Analog stick in most games, but the movements are kind of slow. When I think of moving, I think of fast, fluid movement.

I really enjoy my PSP 3000's graphics and gameplay, along with how the system looks. It looks sleek and dark, something Batman might use. Overall, I would rate this system a 8/10.

NeverWinter Dungeons and Dragons MMO RPG

Recently a friend turned me towards a new MMO RPG game--NeverWinter. First I would just like to say that I was always a fan of fantasy MMO games. They brought a sense of adventure. But most were just pointless cartoon graphics with a storyline that I never even came close to finishing because they were just too thin. Like if you had a pizza, a highly loved meal, that didn't have any tomato sauce. It's just weird.

                                                         The Music

So anyways, back to the game. The soundtrack. It just feels right as you are facing off with a huge rat, or giant goblin, while a steady stream of perfectly fitting music. Usually a guitar riff, like in Black Ops 2 when you are starting a match. It just makes you feel invincible. But you are not invincible in this game, which brings me to the story.

                                                      The Story and Quests

NeverWinter has a variety of different quests such as battling giant sewer rats, to fighting the zombie queen. The main storyline is zombies. You awaken on a beach, your ship in ruins. There is a young knight standing over you. You gather your supplies, and plunge straight into quests and battles. When you first create your character, there is a cutscene of Knights, Rogues and Mages battling the enemy forces. And as an impression, it looked AWESOME. You could see the rogue darting around vanishing into mid air and reappearing, but behind the enemy, and taking them down.

                                                  The Graphics

The graphics are vary good in sense of attacking and lighting. This is a 3rd person MMO RPG like most of them. The bursts of light and air vapor graphics are very good. The really approve on the shine of my dual daggers as I strike the finishing blow on a Giant.

So, all in all, I would rate this game my favorite MMORPG yet, and a 8/10. I would also like to thank Cryptic studios for developing such an awesome game.

Graphics

Okay, so I have been thinking a lot about game graphics. A game could have the best story in the universe, but if it has sucky graphics people are all like, "OMG that game has sucky graphics". Thats all they think about, not the story, the graphics. I love some games, but i'm always thinking, " If only the graphics could have been better". Do any of you guys think this? And what game? Then again, a game could have the suckiest story, and yet, the best graphics ever. The graphics and the story compliment each other. To make the perfect game, it has to have good graphics, and the equal level of story greatness. No wonder i haven't encountered a game like this so far. What with graphics being so advanced, it will take years for good story to catch up. Or just a good writer.

PS4

So I guess it's about time I started talking about the PS4. The PS4 is rumored to be 3D based. In my opinion, this sounds fairly awesome. I think that it would put a whole new look to gaming. But one thing that is a setback about the PS4 is that it probably won't be cheap. I wonder if it will be worth it to have a whole new system just to play 3D games.

I have about a dozen games for the PS3. What will happen to those games? Will I be forced to buy new games for the PS4? Or will it be multi-platform? I am dying to know the details of the PS4. They are announcing new games for it such as Watch Dogs and InFamous Second Son. But what I really want to know about are the system details and graphics and gaming platform. Should I save up for the PS4? Or just stick with the ever-present and increasingly awesome PS3?

There is one thing that makes me veer towards the PS4 system, though. THE GAMES. As I said in one of my earlier posts, I love Uncharted. Naughty Dog announced that they will not be making anymore Uncharted games for the PS3. They said nothing about the PS4, though. Another game series that I enjoy is InFamous. If you have seen the trailer for InFamous Second Son, you know it will be amazing.

So, what do you gamers think personally? Should I save up, or just stick with the PS3? I guess I could do both. But still, which would be a better thing to do? Click the Poll on the side of the site to vote.

Portable Games

So right now, I'm thinking about portable games. I am on a car trip for 2 hours. When I was younger the only games I had were portable. From the Gameboy Advance, to the Nintendo DS. My Nintendo DS broke recently though, so I have replaced it with a PlayStation Portable(PSP). I want you gamer's opinions. Did I make the right choice with this purchase? What was your first portable game console? What is the best portable game console? Comment below for the world to hear. I feel like I'm talking to myself. PROVE ME WRONG.

Uncharted

One game that has always been a favorite of mine is the Uncharted trilogy. The story of Uncharted is that you are a fortune hunter, and you want to find the city of gold. That's right you heard me. The fabled city of gold. You must travel with your friend, Sullivan, fighting off rival treasure hunters that are rich and have basically thousands of people who help take you down. This game probably has the second best only to COD and Infamous human graphics. You can really feel the suspense and your heart beating extremely fast as a giant yeti monster attacks you in the Himalayan mountains, and when a tank blows the place you were standing seconds ago sky high, and when a fortune hunter shoots your friend in the back. This game is very intriguing in the sense of wanting to take risks. I would rate this game 8/10.

Gaming Environment

                                                               Gaming Environment

A gaming environment is what someone does and where they are when they game. Some gaming environments are, the pig. The pig is when someone is surrounded by food and beverages without showering. Other gaming environments are, the winter. The winter is when someone has a blanket and hot beverage with the lights off while they play. If you are someone who is thinking "Why does someone need a specific 'environment' while they game? This just seems pointless to me" THEN YOU ARE NOT A REAL GAMER. If you are a gamer and cannot get into the zone, try experimenting. If you are not successfully getting into the zone, comment below. Others that have a good environment, comment below to help gamers who can't get into the zone.

Realm of the Mad God

A browser game called Realm of the Mad God(ROTMG) is.......interesting. You start in the tutorial, either the evil chickens or the Mad God's chef. They are by far the easiest enemies in the game. So after you beat the tutorial, you will be transported to the Nexus. Go towards the top of the screen to the realm portals. You might wanna choose a realm with lots of people, so you can get lots of XP. The highest level in the game is level 20. There is one thing about this game that I hate. If you die, you lose everything. No saving. You can't die. The graphics are pixelated.
This is a game that a person would play for boredom or fun. It has absolutely no storyline. But it does have a weapon system, although every attack comes out as a bullet. The thing that I hate the most though, is the music. I am not kidding when I say that after an hour of playing, I wanted to throw my wireless mouse at my laptop. All in all, I would rate this game a 5/10.

Favorite Game

Okay guys, so I was thinking that all of you awesome gamers have games that are your favorite. So comment your favorite game and maybe I will review it for the world to see. If you want to include your opinion feel free to.

Pardon My Awesomeness

I apologize to all you awesome gamers out there because I have forgotten to introduce myself. I've been into gaming ever since my first Pokèmon on the Gameboy Advance. I was immersed in Nintendo gaming until years later I got a Sony PS3. THAT opened a portal into a whole new gaming universe. I am fine with shooter games if they have at least great graphics, not too bloody, and have good story. COD for the win! Now about game suggestions, I'm open-minded, but try for nothing too graphic or inappropriate. I think that's just about as much as you should know about me. For now.

Collaborater

Okay, so I have a friend and he is basically awesome and has his own blog(letsgameguys.blogspot.com) and this guy is like PROgamer. Check out his blog guys! We work together so keep a look out.

Little Big Planet

This game has always been a favorite since a friend introduced me to it. In this game you are not really wanting to do the story as much as you are the online content. Anybody that owns the game can make levels online and play other peoples. It is very easy and fun for people of all ages. The graphics are nothing special, there is no need since you are a hackey sack thing, or sackboy. I rate this game 6/10.

Late to the Party

Welcome to a "series" I'm calling "Late to the Party", where I review older games of this generation, and give my take on whether its worthy of a pick up. The first game I'll be reviewing is Batman: Arkham City.

Now, I'll admit, I'm... slightly biased when it comes to this review. Batman is my favorite superhero (or hero, depending on how you look at it), so I was, of course, very  intrigued by the game. But I'll do my best to deliver an un-biased opinion. So, here we go.

The game starts with you, Bruce Wayne, giving a speech why the sprawling mega-prison of Arkham City should be shut down. The Warden of the place, Hugo Strange, doesn't take to kindly to people doing this, and he captures you, taking you to Arkham City. He proceeds to interrogate you, and he reveals something massive; he knows Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same person. He also tells you that by the end of the night, something called "Protocol 10" will make him famous. You, of course, proceed to escape, and don your costume. With this premise, you are let loose upon the city, where every criminal and villain in Gotham resides.

Before I go further, I need to mention the graphics. THE GRAPHICS. These visuals are some of the best I've seen, and give a real dark feel to the world. The skyline shimmers with bright skyscrapers, and the like. The animations are also great, and every thing looks very organic in the way they move, especially Batman, with the way he slides, grapples, and punches.

As you progress through the (steller) story, you will get XP points to unlock armor upgrades, combat moves, and improved gadgets. I really liked this system, but it didn't seem very realistic. I mean, Batman would ALWAYS be as prepared as possible, but then again, the game would be too easy that way.   Also,  throughout the game, you will get many new gadgets, and none of them really are useless or tacked on, and are used often through the puzzles and combat.

Oh, the combat. It is very quick, and very brutal. Batman breaks arms, snaps legs, and smashes heads into walls, and its very fun to do these moves, with a great combo system. Its very fluid, and you can use gadgets in the mix. You may pull an enemy towards you with your Batclaw, proceed to give him a clothesline punch to the head, and then break his leg on the ground. It always very varied, and a lot of fun to pull off.

But my favorite part of the game is the stealth. I grew up with Sly Cooper games, so I'm always eager to pull off some stealth. You systematically clear rooms, watching as the henchmen get more and more frightened, and its great. Enemies with eventually get so scared that they start spraying bullets and every sound, every small movement... Its great.

However, in my opinion, nothing in a game matters if it isn't backed up by a good story, and man, does Arkham City have a great story. Everything is tied together very cohesively, and there are next to no plotholes, though the ones that exist still nag at my brain. You also won't me on any "collect 5 of these" missions, which is great.

What happens after you beat this game you ask? So much. There are 12 side missions, which are always multi parted. Many villians ONLY appear in these, and they are great. There are also challenge maps, where you try to try to clear rooms of baddies as efficiently or fast as possible, using combat or stealth, respectively. Your scores will go up on leaderboards, where you can challenge your friends for the most points, or time.

All in all, Batman: Arkham City is a stunning, great game, and a masterpiece. It is an absolute MUST PLAY for any gamer, and will have you playing for hours and hours and... you get it. Arkham City gets awarded a 10/10 from me. Now go out, and play the game right now. What are you still doing reading this?

Need 4 Speed Most Wanted

This is one of my all time favorite games since the first Xbox. I now play it on the PS3(which is better) and find it awesome. There are many different cars and upgrades and the game is freeworld(you can't leave the car, but it is still very cool). This game has amazing scenery and roads. It takes place in a city named FairHaven. There are many cool obstacles or ramps(I call them pllaygrounds) that you can drive on. Once you play this game for a while you start to get the feeling of movement and drifting. My favorite part of this game is the police. If you hit them with your car they will come after you and they have backup so be ready. There are levels of heat depending on what you do to the police. Ram them and your heat goes up. If you reach heat level six, they will send in the swat cars, which are armored vans that ram you so hard you get stuck. If you are near police and your car is stopped, you will get busted. You do not lose anything except your location which starts over anyway. This game has AMAZING graphics that make the world feel dynamic and epic. I would rate this game an 7/10.

InFamous 2

Right now I'm in the middle of a game called InFamous 2. In this game you play as Cole McGrath, an ex-delivery guy who in InFamous delivered a bomb. When the bomb exploded he was in the center of a 5 block hole of destruction. He was the only survivor. In InFamous 2 you open in a boat near Empire City. A huge explosion happens in the heart of  the city and you must stop what is known as the Beast. You battle the Beast but your powers are drained(You still have powers but you must earn them back). The Beast survives and you are taken to New Marais by your best friend, Zeke, and agent Kuo. One part that everyone loves about InFamous is that you are able to choose between being a hero or being completely evil. In InFamous 2 you are able to get either fire or ice powers in addition to electricity(This happens in about the halfway point in gameplay). To be good you must choose ice powers, whereas to be evil you must choose fire. I really enjoy this game because it really gives you a lot of freedom. It is a free world game and there are side missions along with UCG(User Generated Content) missions that are apart from story missions. In this game the main objective is to defeat swamp monsters, the evil militia, and Joseph Bertrand. You must also absorb Blast Cores which will give you new powers and help you power up the device that will kill the Beast. At the end of the game, you must choose between killing the beast along with yourself, or helping the beast cure people of the plague. When I chose to save millions of people and kill the beast, I felt like a real hero sacrificing my life and my friends for the sake of humanity. I would recommend this game to people who like freedom, challenges and decisions when they play. This game's graphics really set the mood. They make you feel like you are actually in New Marais.  This game has some of the most realistic human graphics I've ever seen. I would rate this game 9/10.

                              GOOD OR EVIL?

                                YOU DECIDE
